Nike is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their slogan “Just do it’. The brand has always been promoting diversity and we clearly see it in this ad.
I like the message of this video, the fact that you don’t have to listen to people who try to put you down. You have to believe in your dreams and… just do it. Once again, the slogan is the most important thing, you just have to do it.
Nike featured different celebrities here like LeBron James, Serena Williams or Mohammed Farah and I like the fact that they use them as examples of courage and success. The narrator is Colin Kaepernick, the quarterback who stood up against Trump and it kind of made a bad buzz for Nike. All the people who were against Kaepernick destroyed their pair of shoes. So Nike’s also making a political statement here and I love that.
I love brands who are not afraid to speak up for something important, that’s what makes Nike a really cool brand, it includes challenges our societies are facing today, like the black racism in America. I find this ad really emotional, and it’s so good that I could watch it again and again.
